An agreement had been signed in 1917 betweeen [[Cawnpore Sugar Works Ltd Railways|Cawnpore Sugar Works Ltd]] and [[Bengal and North-Western Railway]](B&NWR) for the working of a siding from the Gauri Bazar station to the sugar factory. In the early 1930's there was a two and a half mile(4km)line from the factory to the Majhana River.
