Changes

* One of the [[Schools#L|Lawrence SchoolsMilitary Asylum]] s (now Lawrence College) was founded here in 1860 to provide education for the orphans of British soldiers in India.

* The Murree Brewery was estalished here in 1860. There is a contemporary [http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/onlineex/apac/photocoll/other/019pho0000050s1u00033000.html photograph] of the brewery held in the ''Bellew Collection'' at the [[British Library]]. The building was destroyed during the Partition riots in 1947.
