From 1879 to 1916, over 60,000 Indians migrated to Fiji under the Indentured Labourer Scheme. They were recruited Recruited to work in plantations. Records , the records relating to these Indian migrants include immigration passes, general registers, plantation registers, repatriation registers and death registers.
In a joint project between the National Library of Australia and the National Archives of Fiji, the records are now freely available online through Trove., and include:
