The following appears in the London Gazette in 1943 on the granting of a knighthood
*'"James Rennie Izat, Agent and General Manager, Bengal and North-Western Railway and Kumaon Railway, [[Gorakhpur]], United Provinces. Knighthood granted 1 Jan 1943 " <ref name=gazette/>.
