The '''Jind-Panipat Railway''' (JPR) was a short 41 mile(66km) broad gauge([[Rail_gauge#Broad_Gauge|BG]]) line owned by the [[Princely states|Princely ]][[Jind State]] Durbar which connected [[Jind]], a station on the [[Southern Punjab Railway]] line from [[Delhi]] to [[Bhatinda]], with [[Panipat]], a station on the [[East Indian Railway]] route from Delhi north to [[Amballa]] and [[Kalka]]. The line opened in November 1916 and comprised two sections:-* ‘[[Jind-Panipat Railway|'''Jind-Panipat Railway - British Section''']]; BG, opened in 1916 as a 15 mile(24km) section of the ‘[[Delhi-Umballa-Kalka Railway]]’ from Panipat Junction to “2¾ miles from Madhuka” . The line connected to the ‘Jind-Panipat Railway - Indian State Section’, 26 miles(41km). Both sections funded by Jind State Durbar.
