The Jodhpur-Hyderabad Railway (JHR) was a metre gauge line that ran from Luni westwards to Hyderabad in Sind Province, connecting its parent, the Jodhpur-Bikaner Railway, to the North Western Railway. The 124 mile section of line in Sind, from the border of Jodhpur State to Hyderabad, belonged to the Government of India but was worked under contract by the Jodhpur-Bikaner Railway.
History
The section from Balotra to Hyderabad was opened in 1900, with the full length, Jodhpur to Hyderabad opening the following year (1901) when a small broad gauge section near Hyderabad was converted to metre gauge.
The branch line extensions to Jalor and , in the British section, from Mipurkhas north to Khadro and south to Jhudo were opened by 1921.
In 1924, the JHR became part of the Jodhpur State Railway (JSR) when the Jodhpur-Bikaner Railway was split into the JSR and the Bikaner State Railway.
