'Mari is a village on the east bank of the Indus River.

The station at this town the terminal station of the [[Mari-Attock Railway]] opened in 1891 as part of the [[North Western Railway]](NWR) broad gauge([[Rail_gauge#Broad_Gauge|BG]]) system. It was the name applied to the line from Mari Indus on the east bank of the Indus River via Daud Khel Juction to [[Attock|Attock(also named Campbellpur)]].

On the opposite west bank of the Indus River the town of [[Kalabagh]] was the terminal station of the NWR narrow gauge [[Trans Indus (Kalabagh-Bannu) Railway]]
