Nagpur Rifles

Originally formed on 29th December 1860 and absorbed the Berar Volunteer Rifle Corps, which was raised on 21st February 1879, on 1st October 1904. Became the 2nd Nagpur Rifles on the 1st April 1917, then the Nagpur Rifles on the 1st October 1926 and the Nagpur Regiment on 24th December 1927 before reverting back to the designation Nagpur Rifles on the 12th June 1937.
