The '''Oudh and Tirhut Railway''' (O&TR) was formed on 1 January 1943 from the merger of the [[Bengal and North-Western Railway|Bengal and North-Western]], the [[Lucknow-Bareilly State Railway]] and [[Rohilkund and Kumaon Railway|Rohilkund and Kumaon Railways]].<ref>Great Britain.
