The '''[[Gaekwar's Petlad-Cambay Railway]]'''was opened in 1896 between [[Petlad]] and [[Cambay]], a distance of 13 miles(21km). It was a broad gauge([[Rail_gauge#Broad_Gauge|BG]]) line and worked by Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway(BB&CIR).
In service 1901, 1903 a short extension was added bringing the track length to 32 miles(51km) and the entire line was worked by BB&CIR(qv).
