'''Major-General Sir Robert Henry Sale GCB (1782-1845)''', was a British army soldier who went to India in 1798 as a lieutenant in the [[12th Regiment of Foot]]. He served under [[Arthur Wellesley]] in the [[4th Mysore War]] and was on the [[Mauritius Campaign]]. He commanded the [[13th Regiment of Foot]] in the [[1st Burma War]]. During the [[1st Afghan War]] commanded the 1st Bengal Brigade of the Army of the Indus and led the [[Storming of Ghazni]]. From [[Kabul]] he fought his way to [[Jalalabad]] where he was besieged until he accompanied General Pollock on [[the Army of Retribution March to Kabul]]. He was killed at the [[Battle of Moodkee]] in the [[1st Sikh War]].
