== Summary ==
After the battle at Tigra, General Sir Edward Lugard advanced towards Azimghur [[Azamgarh]] which was being besieged. He encountered Kunwar Singh's force at the River Tons and dispersed themwhere they defended the bridge until the bulk of the force withdrew.
