The town '''Secunderabad ''' was founded during the reign of the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mir_Akbar_Ali_Khan_Sikander_Jah,_Asaf_Jah_III Nizam Sikander Jah ] on land ceded by him to the British in 1800. Despite being located in the Nizam controlled [[Hyderabad State]], it remained under British control. Secunderabad The town had a large military garrison and the British stationed a Subsidiary Force there, complimented by the [[:Category:Hyderabad Contingent|Nizam's Contingent]] who were stationed at Bolarum.
