The railway ‘Sindia State Railway’ was from opened 1881 1885 worked by the Maharaja Sindia [[Indian Midland Railway]], which had a comparatively brief existence before being amalgamated in 1900 with the [[Great Indian Peninsula Railway]](GIPR). A Contract was made in 1890 for ==Opening and Operation==During the famine of 1877 the line partially opened to supply grain but after the rains returned that ceased. In January 1878 the line opened properly between [[Indian Midland RailwayAgra]](IMR) for 'maintaining and working [[Dholpur]]. The contractors had an extension to December 1880 to complete the Chambal Bridge and the Sindia State Railway'Southern side opened for traffic <ref name=nameIOR/>.
