The '''Tarkessur Railway''' (also named the '''Tarakeshwar''' and '''Tarakeswar Railways''') was a short (22 mile/35 km) broad gauge ([[Rail_gauge#Broad_meGauge|BG]]) branch line which ran from [[Howrah]] to the pilgrimage centre of [[Tarakeshwar]].
The line was owned by Tarkessur Railway Co Company and worked by [[East Indian Railway]](EIR)as part of the EIR network. In 1915 the Company was merged into the EIR with the line becoming the 'Tarkessur Branch Line'..
