  • 1861 renamed the 1st Goorkha Regiment
  • 1886 became the 1st Goorkha Light Infantry
  • 1891 became the 1st Gurkha (Rifle) Regiment
  • 1901 became the 1st Gurkha Rifles
  • 1903 renamed the 1st Gurkha Rifles (The Malaun Regiment)
  • 1906 renamed the 1st Prince of Wales's Own Gurkha Rifles (The Malaun Regiment)
