Summary
The 19th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry refused to receive percussion caps due to fears about new greased cartridges until confronted by cavalry and artillery. A court of inquiry censured Colonel Mitchell and ordered the disbandment of the regiment. They were marched to Barrackpore and disbanded on 31 March.
