The '''Darrang District Tramway''' in Assam had been reconnoitred in 1896 and was still under consideration in 1906. [[Darrang District|Darrang]] was one of the [[Assam Districts]] during the British period. It is now an administrative district in the state of Assam and occupies an area of 3,481 sq km.
