Assam Saw Mill & Timber Railway

The Assam Saw Mill & Timber Company Railway opened at Sadiya in 1920. It manufactured plywood for the construction of tea chests for the local tea industry. The factory after World War Two moved from Sadiya to Namsai [1].

The record indicates that a 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) locomotive dated 1920 was operating at the Sadiya factory [1].
