''Army List''s are useful if you are researching an officer. There were Monthly, Quarterly and Annual editions published. Some of these were commercial publications, while some were official War Office publications, The official publications included ''Quarterly Army List''s from 1880 and ''Monthly Army List''s from August 1881. Based on library catalogues, Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford, and some the National Library of Scotland may have now been digitised. Some the best collections of ''Monthly Army List''s were official, published by the War Office, while others were commercial publications.
