‘Trichinopoly-Tuticorin Railway’, 195 miles(314km) , from Trichinopoly to Tuticorin. The section from Trichinopoly Junction to Madura , 96 miles(154km) originally was a section of the ‘MG Branch Line’, the section from Madura to Tuticorin, 99 miles(158km) opened in 1876 and was named ‘Tuticorin Branch Line’. The full line was part of the ‘South Indian Railway ‘SIR Metre Gauge’ [1]
