Summary
The control of Holland by the French in the Napoleonic War again brought Dutch trading interests in the Indies into conflict with the East India Company. Expeditions were sent from Madras which occupied Amboyna, Banda and Ternate but they were restored under the Treaty of Paris in 1814.
