The Dehra Dun Mounted Rifles were an auxiliary regiment under the Bengal command.
Chronology
- 1885 raised 24th July[1]
- 1890 redesignated Dehra Dun Mounted Rifles, 23rd May[2]
- 1909 amalgamated with the Mounted Troop of the Naini Tal Volunteer Rifles to form the United Provinces 2nd (Northern) Regiment.[3]
- 1917 redesignated as the 8th (Northern Regiment) United Provinces Horse
- 1920 redesignated as the United Provinces Horse (Northern Regiment).[4]
