Chronology
- 1909 Created by the amalgamated of the Dehra Dun Mounted Rifles with the Mounted Troop of the Naini Tal Volunteer Rifles to form the United Provinces 2nd (Northern) Regiment.[1]
- 1917 redesignated as the 8th (Northern Regiment) United Provinces Horse
- 1920 redesignated as the United Provinces Horse (Northern Regiment).[2]
