The Bombay Overhead Connection Railway was under construction in 1916 by the Great Indian Peninsula Railway(GIPR) in the centre of Bombay.

The report reads “The construction of the Bombay Overhead Connection has made very fair progress. It involves much heavy work in the heart of the city and will, when completed, provide an easy and rapid communication for traders, passing between the business centre of Bombay in the vicinity of Victoria Terminus across the Great Indian Peninsula Railway Goods Yard at Wadi Bunder to the grain warehouses and Cotton Market near Mazgoan on the Harbour Branch Railway. It is anticipated that this line will open for traffic in June 1918.” [1]
