The Calcutta Port Commissioners’ Railway runs along the bank of the Hooghly from [[Chitpore]] in the north to [[Kidderpore]] Docks in the south, where there are extensive sidings. The CPC owns some 45 locomotives, all squat little 0-4-0 saddle tanks of a peculiar design with overlarge wheels.
