A press cutting states “she is a well-known authoress, whose works have attained a world-wide reputation” (page 167). She worked as an orderly with a Unit in Belgium headed by Mrs St.Clair Stobart, then went as a volunteer to Russia, ending up in the Caucasus, where she fell ill.
