Chronology
- 1853 raised as the No 3 Horse Light Field Battery, Punjab Irregular Force at Peshawar from disbanded Sikh artillerymen following the 2nd Sikh War
- 1876 became the 3rd Peshawar Mountain Battery
- 1903 became the 23rd Peshawar Mountain Battery (Frontier Force)
- 1920 became the 23rd Peshawar Pack Battery (Frontier Force)
- 1921 became the 103rd (Peshawar) Pack Battery
- 1922 became the 103rd (Peshawar) Pack Battery (Frontier Force)
- 1924 became part of the Royal Regiment of Artillery as the 103rd (Peshawar) Pack Battery R.A. (F.F.)
- 1927 became the 3rd (Peshawar) Indian Mountain Battery, R.A. (F.F.)
- 1928 became the 3rd (Peshawar) Mountain Battery, R.A. (F.F.)
- 1939 became the 3rd Peshawar Mountain Battery F.F.
- 1947 allocated to India
