This was an event during the 1st Maratha War

Gujarat Campaign

This was General Goddard's operation to reduce Maratha possessions south of the Tapti river. The major action was the capture of Dabhoi which was occupied when the enemy evacuated it overnight. A treaty was signed with the Gaikwad on 23 January.
