Serampore was a former Danish colony. It is now called Shrirampur and is 20km due north of the centre of Calcutta. Alternative spelling: Serampur, Sirampur

Danish history
The Danish name was Frederiksnagore. Alternative spelling: Frederiksnagor, Frederiksnagar.
Fregeriksnagore was established by the Danish East India Company, by then called the Asiatic Company, in 1755.[1]

Frederiksnagore was transferred from the Danish Crown to the East India Company 22 February 1845, as detailed in this link[3]
