and connected to [[East Indian Railway]] (EIR) in 1924
The Calcutta Port Commissioners’ Railway runs ran along the bank of the Hooghly from [[Chitpore]] in the north to [[Kidderpore]] Docks in the south, where there are extensive sidings. The CPC owns , in 1918 owned some 45 locomotives, all squat little 0-4-0 saddle tanks of a peculiar design with overlarge wheels.

It is reported that 'the sections connecting the Outram Ghat area just outside of Kidderpore have become part of the Circular Railway, with scheduled passenger services.
