The Federally Administered Northern Areas (FANA) region of Pakistan was created after Partition. It includes the areas of Gilgit Agency, Hunza, Nagar and Baltistan.
Cities and Towns
Geography
It includes the some of the world's highest peaks including K2 (2nd), Nanga Parbat (9th) and Rakaposhi (27th). The Himalayas and Karakorum Ranges are found here.

The following valleys are located here:
- Gilgit Valley
- Khaplu Valley
- Kharmong Valley
- Rondu Valley
- Shigar Valley
- Skardu Valley
