  • 1764 ranked as 21st Battalion
  • 1765 posted to the 3rd Brigade
  • 1775 remained the 12th Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1781 became the 12th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1783 became the 19th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1796 became the 2nd Battalion 11th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1824 became the 17th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1857 mutinied at Azimguhr 3 June
