Chronology

In the Indian Mutiny the 65th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry did not rebel and, in the ensuing disbandment of Bengal Army regiments, it became the tenth most senior.

  • 1861 became 10th Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1885 became 10th Bengal Infantry
  • 1897 became 10th (Jat) Bengal Infantry
  • 1901 became 10th Jat Infantry
  • 1903 became 10th Jats
  • 1922 became 3rd Battalion 9th Jat Regiment
  • 1947 allocated to India on Partition
