  • 1759? raised at Bankypore by Captain Giles Stibbert
  • 1763 became the Trevanion Battalion under Captain Trevanion
  • 1764 ranked as 6th Battalion
  • 1765 posted to the 3rd Brigade
  • 1775 renumbered the 16th Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1781 became the 16th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1795? became the 16th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1796 became the 2nd Battalion 7th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1824 became the 10th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1857 mutinied at Futtegurh 18 June.

In 1861 after the Indian Mutiny the name was taken by the 65th Bengal Native Infantry which later became 10th Regiment of Jat Infantry.
