My interst involves the Howrah Carriage & Wagon works established by Robert Webb Pearce in 1855. The Locomotive constuction was moved to Jamalpur in the early 1860's (ref. Helen's interest above). C&W continued at Howrah until 1900 when it moved to Liluah.

  1. Hugh - my involvement with this project comes about because I wanted to know more about my great-grandfather's career as a civil engineer, mainly spent on Indain railways.
