Chronology
- 1776 raised for the Vizier of Oude under Captain Young
- 1778? incorporated in HEIC service as the 22nd Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1781 became the 19th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1784 became the 22nd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1786 became the 22nd Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1796 became the 2nd Battalion 3rd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1824 became the 19th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1857 mutinied at Berhampore on 25 February. Colonel Mitchell persuaded them to give up their arms and they were marched to Barrackpore and disbanded on 31 March.
In 1861 after the mutiny the number was given to the 7th Regiment of Punjab Infantry
