Chronology
- 1799 raised as 2nd Btn 18th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry following 1796 reorganisation when previous 18th was absorbed by 10th Regiment
- 1824 2nd Battalion became 37th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major C R Kennett
- 1857 mutinied at Benares 4 June
