The Sheoraphuli-Tarakeshwar Railway was a branch line opened by the Tarkessur Railway Company and worked by East Indian Railway(EIR)
The line linked Sheoraphuli and Tarakeswar and was constructed in 1885; and was a key part of the EIR network until 1917 when the EIR Howrah-Burdwan Chord Railway, a shorter link to Bardhaman, was constructed. [1]
