The Central Indian Coalfields Railway was owned by the Government of India.
With the development of South Karanpura Coalfield, the Central India Coalfields Railway opened a line from Gomoh to Barkakana in 1927 and from Barkakana to Daltonganj in 1929. Later these lines were amalgamated with East India Railway(EIR) [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
The section from Anuppur to Chirimiri was worked by the Bengal Nagpur Railway(BNR) and was absorbed by that railway on 1st October 1944.
