The Chaparmukh-Silghat Railway was a privately constructed and financed metre gauge(MG) railway worked by Assam-Bengal Railway(ABR). The line between Chaparmukh and Silghat , a distance of 51 miles(82km) was sanctioned for construction in October 1915. [1]
The line was in use by 1919 and used to connect the tea gardens in Nagaon to the ABR main line.
