In 1920, the British Army regiment the 1st Battalion, Connaught Rangers mutinied at several stations in North West India due to the actions of the Black and Tans in Ireland.

The mutiny commenced at Jullundur, but escalated at Solon where soldiers guarding the munitions store were killed.[1]
