Hosted by FamilySearch this is a searchable site containing over 40,000 family history related books from seven major US Libraries. This is an ongoing project.
If the catalogue reference indicates 'Public access', you can download the book file to your home computer. If the catalogue reference indicates 'Protected access', the material is accessible on a Family History Library computer at a [[FamilySearch Centres|FamilySearch Centre]] . The protected status extends to books which are subject to copyright laws and, therefore, restrictions on usage applies. The protected status also extends to books filmed in institutions such as the British Library, even if the books would otherwise not be subject to copyright restrictions.
