my grand father served with the northumberland fusileers,and this is a picture we have of him,ive repaired it as mucha as i can ,it obviuosly shows the winning football team from the simla voulnteers rifles ,viceroys cup football match 1914 before i take it they returned to england for the great war,my grand father was also a good swimmer and swam the rib=ver in the boer war to rescue the rum ration,if anyone has any ideas on how i can research him more i would be very grayteful,i have read the fighting fifths northumberland fusileers lost a lot of records from bombing during the second world war.
