Naini Tal Volunteer Rifles
Naini Tal Volunteer Rifles initially included a Mounted Troop which in 1909 amalgamated with the Dehra Dun Mounted Rifles to form the United Provinces 2nd (Northern) Regiment.[1]
Jim Corbett (of Jim Corbett National Park fame) attended Oak Openings Boys High School in Naini Tal[2], and at age 10, c 1885, joined the school’s Cadets, part of the Naini Tal Volunteer Rifles. His experiences are narrated here[3]
