The Panposh-Ruipura Railway Company was a privately financed broad gauge(BG) line linking Panposh to Ruipura, 14 miles(22km). The construction by the Bengal-Nagpur Railway Company(BNR) on behalf of the Panposh-Ruipura Branch Railway Company was sanctioned on 10 Jan 1917. [1]

The primary purpose of the line was to convey limestone from Raipura and the line opened in 1919. The line was worked by the Bengal-Nagpur Railway(BNR) [2]

In 1923 the ownership transferred to the Government of India(GoI) with the line being absorbed into the BNR [3]
