Summary
News of uprisings prompted the European women and children to be sent to Nynee Tal in the hills. The sepoys protested their loyalty but on 31 May they called a parade and seized the guns. The officers and Europeans made for Nynee Tal but not before a number had been killed. The rebels plundered the treasury.
