Southern Shan States Railway
The Southern Shan States Railway was a metre gauge(MG) branch of the Burma Railway(BR), 87 miles (139 km) in length. [1]
The line was constructed shortly before the war of 1914-18 when a line was built from Thazi on the Rangoon-Mandalay section of BR to Kalaw, a hill station in the hills of the Southern Shan State [2] [3]
