The Lucknow Tramway is mentioned in the India Office Records (IOR) stated below. No further information has been found and the tramway was not constructed..

  • Z/E/4/24/G286; “Greenaway, Brothers, Messrs., proposal for construction of tramway to facilitate transit of Ganges referred to Lucknow “; 1853-54
  • Z/E/4/24/L280; “Lucknow, Resident, Proposal for construction of double tramway to facilitate transit of Ganges referred to”; 1853-54
