Villupuram-Trichinopoly Railway
The Villupuram-Trichinopoly Railway is referred to in the India Office Records for the year 1923, see ‘Records’ below.
This railway was part of the South Indian Railway(SIR) network which had its headquarters and railway hub at Trichinopoly. Villupuram was also a major railway station.
This record requires examination – this survey could involve either the realignment of the existing line or a totally new line to cope with increasing traffic.
